Event: Climate mitigation and biodiversity protection for a banana cultivation of the future
In this joint event, the Action Alliance for Sustainable Bananas (ABNB) and the biodiversity project Del Campo al Plato (From Farm to Fork) will focus on the issues of climate mitigation and biodiversity protection in banana cultivation: A handbook will support producers in adapting their production to climate and biodiversity challenges and contribute to strengthening their resilience. At the same time, climate and biodiversity-related measures are being integrated into existing sustainability standards for banana cultivation. Through a voluntary commitment, the sector also aims to promote the implementation of such measures and the purchase of respective bananas by buyers. How does all this fit together and what motivates individual actors to take these measures? ABNB and Del Campo al Plato Initiative will shed light on different perspectives and present their approaches.
